Description

The Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake offers a wide range of mechanical adjustments to set the handbrake to your liking.

A two-stage spring system provides resistance when pulling the lever. The initial metal coil spring simulates the gap between the pads and the rotor and/or the clearance on the handbrake cable. The stroke and preload of this spring are adjustable. You can also remove this initial coil spring if you want to do so.

The main load on the brake is the simulation by compression of the patented Heusinkveld elastomers, which gives an unprecedented progressive brake feel. In addition, 3 different elastomers are added along with the brake in order to set the soft, medium or stiff feel of the handbrake.

The lever can be set to a horizontal or vertical position. For each position, there is a fine adjustment of up to 26 degrees to set the exact lever position.

Assembly

There are many options for mounting a Sim Handbrake in the simulator. The base itself can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. Combined with the possibility of mounting a horizontal or vertical lever, you have many options for finding the right place for the handbrake in your simulator.

The base of the handbrake itself can be mounted in 2 ways. The first option is to use 4 mounting holes on the base itself (2 on each side), which allow you to mount the handbrake to a flat surface. Make sure you have matching mounting holes in the flat surface where you connect the handbrake base.

The second option is to use the included optional disc. This allows the Sim Handbrake to be easily mounted to aluminium profiles (aluminium profiles not included).

An additional advantage of this adapter plate is that it allows you to easily adjust the tilt of the handbrake. This allows the handbrake base to be tilted up to 22.5 degrees

Mounting materials

Each Sim Handbrake comes with a set of T-bolts and T-nuts. These should allow the handbrake to be fitted to most aluminium profile based kits using an adapter plate.

Due to the wide variety of racks on the market, we cannot guarantee that the materials provided will allow the Sim Handbrake to be fitted to every station. If, for example, you are mounting the handbrake to a (drilled) flat surface, you must equip yourself with bolts of the correct length + nuts to complete the installation.
